The Seasonal Kitchen Supervisor reports to the Culinary Manager and is responsible for successfully overseeing the day-to-day operations of the pizza kitchen and its team members in our Sandwich location. In addition to working hands-on in the kitchen daily, this role is responsible for handling scheduling, callouts and employee relations matters. This candidate will help carry out our overall mission to make the best high-quality pizza and to serve it in the most friendly and memorable environment possible.
This position is full-time and will be seasonal in nature. Employment will begin in May and end in October. The schedule for the Seasonal Kitchen Supervisor will require nights, weekends and holiday availability.
As a Kitchen Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following:
Preparing high-quality pizzas according to Tree House standardized protocols
Ensuring pizzas going out are consistent and meeting Tree House standards with regards to taste, quality, presentation and timeliness
Work alongside the Lead Pizza Makers to ensure the quality of the Tree House pizza SOP, as it relates to variable conditions at your respective location, including but not limited to ingredient sourcing and trialing, cooking methodologies, kitchen conditions, and customer volume
Coordinating kitchen staff schedules in tandem with the Culinary Manager, adjusting as necessary based on operational needs
Ensuring training of Pizza Prep Cooks and Pizza Makers based on Tree House processes and SOPs in the kitchen
Handling day-to-day staffing, operations and employee relations, escalating to the Culinary Manager and Human Resources as needed
Providing guidance and feedback to Pizza team members to ensure the Pizza program is fulfilling expectations as set forth by the Culinary Manager
Communicating any areas of concern or pertinent information and feedback for the Culinary Manager regarding the pizza operations
Delegate tasks to Pizza staff, from food preparation to stocking and cleaning
Set the standard for communication and teamwork of the Pizza team internally as well as externally with the Retail and Leadership teams of Tree House
Being aware of ingredients in products that would need to be communicated to customers in the case of any potential food allergies
Monitoring inventory and notifying management of low stock levels as necessary
Performing other kitchen duties as needed
Applicant Requirements:
Minimum one year of supervisor experience in a professional setting required
Previous work experience as a Pizza Maker in a professional setting required
Ability to commit to consistently working at least two closing shifts per week and two of the three weekend days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
A food handler’s license is preferred
Hands-on experience with preparing pizza doughs
Familiarity with professional brick or stone oven
Proven food preparation and food handling experience, including manual dexterity in operating cutting tools and kitchen utensils
Working knowledge of proper food handling procedures
The ability to follow standardized recipes
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
The ability to work in a team
Excellent communication skills
Exceptional customer service skills
